Together,we have whatit takes.

Hi there! I’m Jabulani Kwaramba, and I’m asking for your vote for the Law Society of Zimbabwe Council, Harare region.

Portrait of Jabulani Kwaramba

Meet Jabulani.

Jabulani Kwaramba is an Associate Partner and Head of Intellectual Property at Gollop & Blank Legal Practitioners. As part of his service to the legal fraternity, he served as President of the Zimbabwe Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Agents (2024–2025), where he worked with CIPZ, ZIPO and ARIPO to protect lawyer interests, host educational legal forums and advance local IP rights. He is also a ZIMTRADE Associate Trainer and has been nominated by IP Gorilla as a top global emerging IP practitioner.

Those experiences have shaped a people-first, inclusive style of leadership built on listening and collaboration. “We are 2000+ registered members,” he says, “and together, we have what it takes to build a strong fraternity.”

Away from the law, he loves to play and compose music, and there is nothing he likes better than performing live.

A new season calls for fresh ideas.

Every new season calls us to look toward the horizon, building proudly upon the solid foundations and timeless wisdom handed down by those who came before us. As our profession steps into an exciting new era of digital portals and modern opportunities, our shared mission is clear: to honour our rich heritage while boldly embracing the fresh ideas and innovations that will elevate every practitioner and secure a thriving future for us all.

Hear it from me.

Moving Forward Together.

Four Strategic Commitments

Our profession can’t serve the public effectively if the daily work is plagued by unnecessary systemic friction. I aim to put the physical, operational, and daily needs of practitioners first.

1

Member Welfare First

“A strong Law Society starts with a supported bar. By prioritising the operational ease, health, and dignity of our lawyers, we build a resilient profession capable of serving the nation with excellence.”
  • Dedicated Lawyer ParkingLobbying relevant court and municipal authorities to secure reserved, designated lawyer parking at all superior and magistrate courts to eliminate pre-hearing delays and security concerns.
  • Modern Robing & Work LoungesUpgrading traditional robing rooms into secure, quiet work hubs equipped with comfortable seating, work desks, power stations, and high-speed Wi-Fi—allowing practitioners to research and prep between appearances without leaving the courthouse.
  • Practitioner Support & SustainabilityFostering sustainable practice conditions, wellness initiatives, and operational support to protect the daily dignity and wellbeing of all members.
2

Digital Readiness & Legal AI

“As court systems transition into digital portals like the IECMS, our legal practice must not only keep pace with technology—it must lead it.”
  • Legal AI & Modern Practice CLEsSpearheading Law Society-backed, hands-on workshops and masterclasses on incorporating legal AI into research, document drafting, contract review, and case analysis—ethically and securely.
  • Subsidised Legal Tech AccessPartnering with legal tech providers to secure subsidised access to modern research engines, AI tools, and digital practice management software for sole practitioners, small firms, and large practices alike.
3

Institutional Governance & Inclusive Reform

“True leadership builds upon the solid foundations and timeless wisdom handed down by those who came before us, ensuring every statutory evolution is guided by the bar.”
  • Proactive Consultation LoopsEstablishing clear, transparent feedback loops where statutory developments (such as the Legal Practitioners Amendment Bill) and policy changes are communicated clearly and consulted on proactively.
  • Streamlined Practice ComplianceAdvocating for efficient, digitised processing of Practising Certificates and firm compliance to remove administrative bottlenecks and protect the independence of the bar.
4

Youth Elevation & Structured Mentorship

“The strength of our legal future lies in how we train, integrate, and listen to our young lawyers today.”
  • Institutionalised Young Lawyers DeskEstablishing a dedicated desk within the Law Society to give practitioners under 35 or with fewer than eight years’ experience a direct, formal voice in Council consultations, policy formulation, and legislative reviews.
  • Structured Mentorship & Professional DevelopmentCreating structured mentorship networks connecting seasoned experts with early-career practitioners to foster professional growth, ethical compliance, and sustainable career paths.

Leadership built on listening.

5×Growth in ZIPTA membership while I was President
20 to 100+IP practitioners, from just over 20 to over 100
  • I served as President of the Zimbabwe Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Agents, prioritising open dialogue and inclusive growth.
  • I secured the appointment of a representative of the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs on the ZIPTA Council.
  • When the Companies and Intellectual Property Office began its digital evolution, I rallied practitioners from across firms to work with government on modernising the registry.
  • When statutory reforms arose, I gathered input from across the bar so practitioners’ concerns shaped the outcome.

One profession, whatever your practice.

On an ordinary Monday morning, one lawyer is catching up on weekend emails, another is in court waiting for a matter to be heard, another is working through a lease and wondering how to make fees, and another is working out how to meet the salary bill.

Different offices, different work. The same oath, the same name on the register, and the same hope: that this profession can work for all of us. I’m asking for your vote on behalf of the litigator and the in-house counsel, the young lawyer and the senior partner, the advocate and the sole practitioner, in private practice and in government, in the CBD and at a laptop at home.

I will listen to all of you. I will take your instructions. And I will report back.

I’d love to hear from you!

Leading by listening starts here. Let’s connect, let me have your thoughts!
